In a few words...
My love for cinematography stems from the power films had on me since a young age. As an adult it was the realization that without light there is no life. Cinematography is more than an art form – it is a way of observing the world, and a window into humanity and what makes us who we are.
Creating images and traveling are my biggest passions, while music gives rhythm to it all. I've traveled to 52 countries, worked on 5 continents and get around in 5 languages. Most importantly, I love what I do.
My body of work encompasses films, documentaries, commercials and music videos. I’ve also shot branded and corporate content for Fortune 500 companies and startups alike.
I’ve been lucky to work on notable productions such as Stranger Things, South Park and the summer box office hit Sound Of Freedom. My work has claimed numerous awards and was mentioned in prestigious publications such as British Cinematographer magazine.
I crave inspiring, creative and emotionally impactful projects.
In more words...
I was born in Switzerland of a Swiss mother and British/American father. Growing up I was exposed to many different cultures and fortunate to travel around Europe and Northern Africa at a young age; all of which had a strong impact on my growing consciousness. There are no stories of making movies as a kid, but I would always get lost in thought while observing the world around me.
Watching films was magic, especially those of Chaplin and Hitchcock. Reading novels was where I felt the power of storytelling the most. I was amazed to discover my imagination at work. It created images and feelings based on ideas and words, allowing me to drift into completely foreign worlds populated with fascinating characters.
After moving to California I studied screenwriting and directing. I picked up a 35mm still camera to play with on my free time. It wasn’t long before I merged these passions, and along with a fascination for lighting, I became a cinematographer.
20 years later I find myself with a vast body of work, considerable experience under my belt and even more passion for telling stories. I go where jobs need me while embracing opportunities to meet and connect with people all around the globe.
Traveling is a phenomenal source of inspiration and a wonderful way to stay humble, grounded and open-minded while growing as a human.
